The University defines academic integrity as "a commitment to the fundamental values of honesty, trust, fairness, respect and responsibility". These principles provide crucial support for the "freedom of inquiry and exchange of ideas" within an academic institution. Offenses to academic integrity include plagiarism and the use of unauthorized materials. Students in CISC 101 who violate academic integrity (e.g., submit someone else's work as their own) will be penalized. The first offense will result in a grade of zero for the associated test or assignment; the second offense will result in a failing grade for the course. More information can be found on the Faculty of Arts and Science website.
